Industrial development planned for Bicester
Suzanne Lovell
Brunel Securities is planning four new industrial/warehouse buildings, totalling 7,161 sq m at Barnard Green at Bicester.
The developer has applied to Cherwell District Council to build the scheme on a 2.46-hectare site, just off the A43. It is an open field behind a service station at the Barnard Green roundabout, around a mile from junction 10 of the M40.
The four units would have a total 127 parking spaces.
The use classes include B1(c) (light industrial), B2 (general industrial) and B8 (storage/distribution) with ancillary B1(a) offices.
The design and access statement produced by The DCM Partnership concludes: "The location of the site close to the A43 junction and the M40 make this an excellent opportunity to create commercial space where it will cause the minimum disruption whilst maintaining access to primary transport routes locally and nationally.
“Immediately surrounding the site are existing commercial uses that will benefit from the development of this site.”
