New plan for 60,000 sq m Bicester Office Park

A new application has been submitted for 60,000 sq m Bicester Office Park on land to the south of the town.
The latest submission to Cherwell District Council by Scenic Land at the end of last year for a mix of flexible class B1(a) office / B1(b) research & development floorspace, plus parking for up to 2,000 cars and associated works, seeks to fulfil a previous scheme for a similar development.
Permission was given in 2010 for the original scheme – which included a hotel – but later a Tesco supermarket was built on part of the site and the new proposal is on the remaining 13.1 hectares plus and additional 3.8 hectares the developer has bought. The land, which is to the South and East of the A41 and Oxford Road, is mostly agricultural.
The plans show seven primary office buildings of around 4,000 sq m each with larger buildings either side. All are of three or four storeys. The hotel has been dropped from the originally consented scheme.
